I was building Crowdwide, a social media platform whose main purpose and algorithm are designed for indie devs and solo startups; it gives a better chance to new voices and communities. But it's not only for them, everyone can use it! It's just that the starting idea came from there!
I released its v1 on Oct 3, 2026, but it was the first version built by a solo dev, so it had so many bugs. So, while fixing them, debugging, and doing all the maintenance, I'm here on Day 18 of Crowdwide.
I announced batches and streaks.
AND THEY ARE FINALLY RELEASED!! YOU CAN CHECK THEM OUT!!
And I noticed that even if a user logs back into Crowdwide, they don't have a strong reason to post on it.
That's why I added a daily question.
Lemme show you some 👀
Then yesterday, I made a funny reply to my own Crowdwide user 💀
And I took a survey on Crowdwide, and the results were pretty much expected.
Most of the users said they don't visit back or engage less because Crowdwide has content they're not interested in (roughly 70% of users).
And I thought, why is there no content? If there's no content... then why don't they post lol...
Okay, so I think I should upload some writings there, and I should upload some starting seeds.
But one more problem... WHERE SHOULD I UPLOAD IT?????
Like, if I post in the feed simply from my account, it'll get normal engagement, and it might get mixed up with too much irrelevant content, right?? And the algorithm also needs 4–5 engagements to understand a user's interests...
So I thought I should post in a Crowdwide community, but FAAAAAAAAAHHH 💀
They're mostly for people who have joined them. Assume someone hasn't joined a community. How would they get that content!???!!
community post get suggested but for proper values you need to join it and if you didnt...
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...
IDEAAAAAAAA BIRTHDAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY 🎉
So I came up with a new idea... you might be thinking, "not again, not again" lol.
A new part of Crowdwide whose name is...
is....
iss.....
"WideWave"
It's a little bit different from an open post on Crowdwide and a community post on Crowdwide.
This is specially built for a larger audience to get its content. You don't need to join any community or follow anything.
It'll be like a whole open area! Where content of interest will be added, no filter, all just there! (Under moderation, of course, so no one can post illegal content or anything like that.)
And its names will be like ww/[community_name].
Ngl, I got this idea from Reddit 😂
And you can create your own WW, and I think this is gonna be better for people who wanna share or reach a larger audience.
For people who like art, writing, startup discussions, lifestyle sharing, etc!
It's under development right now, and it'll be one of the most major additions for Crowdwide v2.
Also, I checked out another site to see whether Crowdwide has a chance to become a proper social media platform, either mainstream or a bit outside the mainstream.
Their answer? The chances were VERY low.
Most estimates were around 2–4%.
So, yea, let's try it. If all this works, great... or I'll get a new learning experience and an idea to work on something even better in my life.
HAPPY DUSSSHERAAA TO EVERYONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE 🎆🎇
If you have any ideas or suggestions, throw them in! It doesn't matter if they're bad or good, just try!
As I'm doing... trying to get the best and getting to know what the best looks like!?
That's all for Day 18!
