Why We Built Paxmeet: Solving the "Ghost Town" Problem of Modern Social Platforms

Building social discovery platforms requires a fundamental pivot from traditional feed-based media. Standard social networks optimize for screen time—showing endless algorithmic feeds that keep users inside the app.

When building Paxmeet, our engineering objective was the exact opposite: minimize app retention time and maximize real-world connection velocity.

To connect verified users through local interest circles and spontaneous events, we had to solve distinct engineering challenges around geospatial queries, real-time participant synchronization, and programmatic trust verification.

1. System Architecture Overview

Our backend architecture is decoupled to separate heavy spatial indexing workloads from standard account lifecycle operations.
