Project Description:
TerraAI is an AI-powered outdoor companion that encourages people to spend less time on screens and reconnect with nature through personalized outdoor missions.
Problem Statement:
People often spend too much time on digital devices and may struggle to find simple, enjoyable outdoor activities.
Solution:
TerraAI suggests outdoor adventures based on a user's mood, preferred activity, and available time, making it easier to take screen-free breaks.
Key Features:
- Personalized outdoor missions
- Multiple nature-based activities
- Outdoor activity timer
- Leaf Points and mission tracking
- Progress dashboard
- Browser-based progress saving
- Predefined missions when the local AI service is unavailable
Technology Stack: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js, Express.js, Ollama, and Qwen 2.5 3B.
Use of AI: An open-weight language model can generate personalized outdoor missions through Ollama running locally.
Target Audience: Students, young people, and anyone who wants to reduce unnecessary screen time and spend more time outdoors.
Innovation: TerraAI uses AI to encourage real-world activities and nature exploration rather than prolonged screen engagement.
Expected Impact: Encourage healthier digital habits, outdoor exploration, and greater appreciation for nature.
Future Scope: Weather-aware missions, park discovery, location-based suggestions, daily streaks, achievements, and a Progressive Web App.
Tagline: Less scrolling. More exploring.
Challenge Theme: Touch Grass — reconnecting people with nature through technology.
