Let me know if this workflow sounds familiar:
You are working on your desktop, and you need to test a specific API payload, JSON object, or long URL on your mobile device. Or maybe you found the perfect Stack Overflow answer on your phone while commuting, and you need to get it onto your laptop right now.
How do you transfer it?
If you are like 90% of developers I know, you probably do one of three things:
- Send a Slack, Discord, or WhatsApp message to a "Note to self" group where you are the only member.
- Open Gmail, start a new draft, paste the code, and open it on your phone.
- Open Google Keep, Notion, or Evernote, paste it, wait for the cloud sync, and copy it on the other device. This works. But itβs incredibly tedious, it clutters up your chat history, and honestly? It's fundamentally insecure. If you are moving API keys, JWT tokens, or production database credentials through an email draft, you are permanently saving highly sensitive data on a third-party server. We got incredibly tired of this workflow, so we decided to build a better way.
Enter the Ephemeral Online Clipboard
My team and I built SnipToolkit's Online Clipboard β a completely free, frictionless, and secure way to share code snippets across devices.
How it works:
It is ridiculously simple. There are no accounts, no logins, and no apps to install.
- You go to the site on Device A and paste your code snippet, JSON, or text.
- The app instantly generates a temporary 6-digit code (and a large QR code).
- You open the site on Device B, type those 6 digits, and your text is instantly there. That's it.
- Client-Side Processing: This is the most important part. Unlike other online tools that upload your data to a central database, our tools process data locally. The clipboard mechanism uses secure, ephemeral transfers.
A Swiss-Army Knife for Developers
Once we built the clipboard, we realized we needed a secure place for all our other daily utilities. So we expanded the project into a full suite.
If you ever need to:
- Format and validate massive JSON files
- Decode Base64 strings
- Generate UUIDs (v4 & v7)
- Convert Unix Timestamps
- Generate cryptographic hashes (MD5, SHA-256) You can do it all at SnipToolkit.com. Every single tool is 100% free, has zero ads, and processes data entirely client-side so your sensitive data never leaves your browser memory.
We'd love your feedback!

What is the most annoying part of your daily dev workflow? Maybe we can build a tool to fix it next.
