Starting My Journey Seriously as a Developer

I’ve been interested in web development for quite a while, but for a long time I was not really consistent with it.

I learned different things at different times, stopped, started again, explored new technologies, and sometimes felt like I was just learning without having a clear direction.

Recently, I decided to change that.

Now I’m taking my software engineering journey seriously.

At the moment, I’m mainly focused on frontend development. I’m working with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, APIs, Git and GitHub.

But this time, I don’t just want to finish tutorials or collect technologies.

I want to actually understand what I’m doing.

I want to understand how React works, why a certain approach is better than another one, how to structure projects properly, how to debug problems, and how real applications are built.

I’m also trying to build more projects instead of only watching courses.

There are still a lot of things I don’t know, and I know becoming a good software engineer is going to take time.

That’s okay.

After getting comfortable with frontend development, I plan to move into backend development as well.

I joined DEV because I want to keep a record of this journey.

Sometimes I’ll probably write about something I learned.

Sometimes it might be a bug that took me hours to solve.

Sometimes it might just be something I finally understood after being confused about it for days.

Mostly, I just want to look back later and see how far I’ve come.

So yeah, this is my first post here.
