Shorts Blocker: hide YouTube Shorts with a free browser extension

Hides YouTube Shorts everywhere: home shelves, the sidebar entry, search results, channel tabs. Opening a Shorts link redirects to the normal player.

• Toggle on/off from the toolbar popup
• Works on youtube.com and the mobile site
• Only permission: storage (remembers the toggle)

Install

Download shorts-blocker.zip from the latest release.

• Chrome / Brave / Edge: unzip, open chrome://extensions, turn on Developer mode, click "Load unpacked" and pick the folder.
• Firefox: open about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox, click "Load Temporary Add-on" and pick manifest.json from the unzipped folder.

Privacy

No data is collected, stored remotely or sent anywhere. No analytics, no network requests.
