The experimental feature relies on a new real-time learning intelligence layer to serve recommendations based on mood, available time, and custom themes.
Users can choose themes based on their mood, preferences, available time, or current trends. Some of the available options include lighthearted, horror, family movie night, and quick viewings.
How the new tab works
The company says the feature is based on a new system that learns and adapts in real time. After choosing a topic, users can start over if they want something different or adjust their suggestions.
Next to the play and list buttons, each title now has a custom suggestions button. Netflix describes AI Discover as a testing environment where it will test and refine new search ideas.
