Today I was looking at my friend's Mac, an M4, and basically drooling.
How great it is to have a Mac with plenty of RAM and an M4 processor on top. It is thin and it runs, I do not know how long it can run without charging, but it feels like a very long time.
Overall, a lovely machine.
As for me, I sit on a Mac I bought off some ex-Facebook guy, a Facebook employee, or maybe a current Facebook employee. We met in a cafe near Palo Alto about three years ago.
And it was already two years old back then. So my Mac is now five or six years old. And its processor is still Intel.
Half the programs I want to use I cannot use, because it is Intel. I am used to it by now, of course. But still, ChatGPT for Intel processors did not arrive straight away.
So: I will find myself a job, and I will buy myself a proper Mac.
Although, who knows, maybe first I will buy solar panels and an inverter for the house, to save on electricity. And only then buy myself a Mac.
You know how it is, when there is a house, all the rest of it, a pile of expenses, a Mac stops being the point.
But still, dreams. Dreams.
Still looking for a job.
You will tell me: dude, there are jobs everywhere, just take any job.
My son says the same thing to me: dad, why can you not find yourself a job? What is going on, dad, have you still not got one?
I say: son, it is not that simple. You have to go to interviews.
And he says: dad, just ask Claude to find you the richest jobs.
I think that is what I will end up doing, asking Claude.
My son is seriously jealous of Claude. He says: dad, you spend more time with Claude than with me.
And I agree with him. Sadly, yes, there is that.
