My Chrome extension went from 200 to 1,500 weekly users in 3 days, installs, page views, impressions all normal. What's going on?

I built a small tab suspender Chrome extension about 2.5 months ago. Organic growth was steady at 5-8 installs per day, around 200 total users. Then in 3 days: 200 → 520 → 999 → 1,511 weekly users. Nothing else changed.
