The more moving parts on the chessboard, the less truly durable the system becomes. Monoliths will always win on consistency, latency, and availability thinking of CAP Theorem.
Distributed messaging systems inherently create complexity. Monolithsβgiven proper coding patterns, try catch blocks, good profiling, and memory management will always win in performance and consistency.
But they will always lose in security considerations. Least privileged access is the reason why distributed systems are more secure, and monoliths are not recommended in security dependent solutions.
