What is Knovum?
A desktop-first, on-device AI workspace built on an infinite 2D spatial canvas:
- Tauri 2 + Rust backend: Cold boot in ~350ms, idles at ~45MB RAM.
-
Embedded Perception: On-device audio transcription with compiled
whisper.cpp+ CPU ONNX OCR (PP-OCRv6) without Python runtimes. - Local-first Data: Open JSON Canvas format, local SQLite relational tables, and embedded LanceDB vector search.
- Zero Cloud Leaks: Connects directly to local model endpoints (Ollama, LM Studio) or offline models.
