I Built SnapList to Make Product Research Less Messy

When I’m researching something I want to buy, I usually end up with the same problem:

Too many tabs.
Too many screenshots.
Too many links.
And eventually, I forget why I preferred one product over another.

So I built SnapList.

SnapList is an iOS app designed to turn scattered product research into a more structured buying decision.

Instead of simply bookmarking products, the idea is to help you:

  • Save products you're considering
  • Keep potential purchases organized
  • Evaluate different options
  • Compare what actually matters
  • Narrow everything down before buying

Why I built it

Most shopping tools are great at helping you discover products.

Wishlists are great at helping you save products.

But I wanted something focused on the part in between:

“I have several options. Which one should I actually buy?”

That became the core idea behind SnapList.

Building SnapList

I built the app as a solo developer using a React Native / Expo stack.

Some of the main infrastructure includes:

  • Expo for the mobile development workflow
  • Firebase / Firestore for backend functionality
  • Cloud Functions for server-side logic
  • RevenueCat for purchases and entitlement management

One of my goals was to keep the architecture manageable for a solo developer while still having a foundation I can expand as the product grows.

What happens next?

SnapList is still at an early stage.

Rather than assuming I know exactly what users need, I want to see how people actually use it and improve the product around real behavior and feedback.

I'm especially interested in learning which parts of the product-research process are still frustrating:

Is it collecting options?

Comparing them?

Understanding reviews?

Remembering why you liked a product?

Or finally making the decision?

If you try SnapList, I'd genuinely appreciate your feedback — including criticism.

SnapList is now available on the App Store.

Thanks for checking out something I’ve been building. 🚀
