Hey everyone,
You know the drill: you ask Claude or Cursor to whip up a quick HTML prototype, landing page, or mini calculator. It writes great code, but then you're stuck copying the code, opening a repo or hosting dashboard, and deploying it somewhere just to share a link with a friend or test it on your phone.
I wanted something way simpler: tell the AI what to build and have it hand back a live URL immediately.
So I rolled out an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for HTMLSave.
Now you can hook it directly into Claude Desktop, Cursor, or any MCP-compatible AI assistant.
What it actually lets you do:
Instead of just giving you code blocks in chat, your AI can now run tools under the hood to:
- Create a brand new site (
https://yourname.htmlsave.net) - Attach extra pages (
/about.html), stylesheets (styles.css), or JSON data files - Edit code or update text on existing live pages
- Check view stats or list what you’ve built
How to plug it in (takes ~1 min):
The server runs over remote HTTP at https://mcp.htmlsave.com.
If you use Claude Desktop, add this to your claude_desktop_config.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"htmlsave": {
"url": "https://mcp.htmlsave.com?token=YOUR_HTMLSAVE_API_TOKEN"
}
}
}
(You grab your free API token from your HTMLSave settings).
If you use Cursor or Windsurf / Antigravity, just go to Settings → MCP, add a new SSE/HTTP server, and paste https://mcp.htmlsave.com?token=YOUR_TOKEN.
Prompts you can try right away:
- "Build a slick dark-mode pomodoro timer and host it on HTMLSave as
focus-timer." - "Add a simple
faq.htmlpage to myfocus-timersite." - "Change the background color of my
focus-timerhome page to slate gray."
Within seconds, the AI calls the tool and hands you the live link. No git commit, no build steps, no DNS waiting.
Would love for you guys to test it out and tell me what you think or what other tools you’d want the AI to have access to!
