How we built Vibe Direct: an AI video generator that thinks like a director

Most AI video tools give you one clip from one prompt. If you've tried to make anything longer than a few seconds, you know the problem: the character changes face between shots, the lighting jumps, and you end up stitching things together by hand.

We built ClickPop to fix that. ClickPop is an AI video generator and AI video editor in one studio, and the core of it is something we call Vibe Direct.

What Vibe Direct does

You type an idea in plain words, the way you'd pitch it to a friend. Vibe Direct turns that into a shot list: scenes, camera moves, pacing and mood. Then it renders each shot and cuts them together into one finished video.

The idea is that you direct the vibe, and ClickPop handles the craft.

Keeping characters consistent

The hardest part of AI video is keeping the same person on screen from shot to shot. ClickPop locks a character's look once and carries it through every scene, so a faceless YouTube story or an AI UGC ad doesn't fall apart halfway through. You can also swap a character into an existing clip when you want a different face for the same performance.

Cinematic VFX without a VFX team

ClickPop's own effects layer adds the stuff that usually needs a compositor: transitions, motion graphics, 3D scene previews and sound effects. Creators use it for Shorts, explainers, trailers and music videos; small businesses use it for product videos and ads.

What we learned building it

  1. Planning beats prompting. Splitting a video into a shot plan before rendering gave us far better results than one giant prompt.
  2. Consistency is a feature, not a setting. Users notice a face change instantly, so we treat character identity as part of the project, not part of each clip.
  3. Editing has to live next to generation. People want to fix one shot, not re-roll the whole video.

We're launching ClickPop on Product Hunt this week. If you make videos for YouTube, TikTok or ads, I'd love to hear what slows you down most. Drop it in the comments.
