How to Get TikTok Data via API — Profiles, Video Metrics & oEmbed (No Login)

Most TikTok APIs are thin wrappers that break the day TikTok changes something — empty responses, no fix. If you need public TikTok data that's actually there every day, here's a cleaner way.

What you can get

Three endpoints, clean normalized JSON, no login required:

GET /profile — creator profile & stats
Returns followers, following, likes, video count, bio, bio link, nickname, verified & business flags, region, avatar, and account age.
GET /profile?username=tiktok

GET /video — full video metrics in one call
Returns views, likes, comments, shares, saves, reposts, plus the sound/music, hashtags, duration, dimensions, cover image — AND the creator's full profile + stats in the same response. (Most APIs make you fetch that in three separate calls.)
GET /video?url=https://www.tiktok.com/@tiktok/video/...

GET /oembed — TikTok's official embed data.

The easy way

It's live on RapidAPI: https://rapidapi.com/ryanaprilcmyk/api/tiktok-public-data-api1
Free BASIC tier to test, PRO ($15/mo) and ULTRA ($49/mo) for higher volume. Grab your RapidAPI key, send it in the X-RapidAPI-Key header, and you're done.

Why it holds up

A dual-path extraction engine with automatic failover reroutes around blocks instead of going dark when TikTok shifts — so you get data, not downtime. No scraper to maintain, no auth headaches.

Good uses

  • Track follower/engagement growth over time (/profile).
  • Pull full video performance for analytics or reporting (/video).
  • Embed TikToks cleanly (/oembed).

Uses only public, logged-out data. Respect TikTok's terms and applicable laws.
