Everyone is building an AI agent. So how many are there?
Based on FalcoScan data updated 26 September 2026, 328 AI agent products are still operating in FalcoScan's Agents market, the sixth largest of the 29 AI markets it tracks. Counting the 30 that have shut down and the two that were acquired, FalcoScan has tracked 360.
Three things stood out:
- The 328 products come from just 224 companies. Several companies ship more than one agent; one big tech company alone has six.
- "AI agent" has become a label, not a category. Another 124 operating products outside the Agents market describe themselves as AI agents, led by Finance, Support and Automation.
- Agents are already shutting down. Nearly one in ten agent products FalcoScan has tracked is gone.
