How I built a zero-dependency MCP server for AI web browsing

Stop copy-pasting web elements into Claude or Cursor. I built Omni-Web-MCP to solve this.

Most existing MCP web servers require heavy dependencies (Puppeteer, Chromium) and are painful to set up. Omni-Web-MCP uses zero dependenciesβ€”just Node.js built-ins and a single IIFE client. It even runs perfectly on Windows 7.

It exposes 5 core tools (get_dom_tree, click_element, input_text, scroll_page, list_pages) and includes a 192-bit timing-safe pairing token for security.

Quick Start

  1. Start the hub:

bash
npx -y github:doujiaozh/omni-web-mcp
Enter fullscreen mode Exit fullscreen mode
