Anthony Nguyen

Hey DEV Community! I'm Anthony Nguyen, and this is my very first post here. I've been lurking and reading brilliant articles from all of you for a while, so it feels good to finally introduce myself and become part of the conversation.

How I Got Into Code

My journey into software started the way it does for a lot of people — curiosity and a broken thing I wanted to fix. I built a clunky little website for a friend's small business years ago, and the moment I saw real people actually using something I made, I was hooked. That feeling of turning an idea into a working product still keeps me up at night (in a good way).

Since then, I've spent most of my time in the web development world. HTML, CSS, and JavaScript were my first loves, and JavaScript in particular has stuck with me through every trend and framework shift. I like to say JS is the language I fight with and can't live without.

What I Work On

These days I focus on building tools that help people work smarter, not harder. I'm fascinated by the intersection of web technologies and cloud services — the way modern apps can scale, automate, and remove friction from everyday tasks. Productivity tooling is a bit of an obsession for me; if I can shave five minutes off a repetitive workflow, I consider it a win.

I'm also a big believer in keeping things simple. It's easy to over-engineer a solution and drown in abstractions. Some of the best code I've written was the code I ended up deleting because a simpler path existed. Clean, readable, maintainable — that's the goal.

Why I'm Here

I joined DEV because this community feels different. It's less about flexing and more about genuinely helping each other grow. I want to learn from people solving problems I haven't even encountered yet, and eventually share the little lessons I pick up along the way — the bugs that taught me humility, the patterns that saved my projects, and the tools that made my life easier.

Let's Connect

I'm following tags like #webdev, #javascript, and #productivity, so if you write about those, there's a good chance I'll be in your comments cheering you on. I'd love to hear what you're building, what tech stack you swear by, and what problem you're currently stuck on.

Feel free to drop a comment and say hi. Tell me one tool or workflow that changed the way you work — I'm always hunting for the next thing to add to my setup.

Thanks for reading, and I'm excited to be here. See you around the community!

— Anthony
