The notorious GTA 6 leaker CyberLeek has apparently halted operations following the collapse of a meme coin funding campaign intended to finance the release of an unreleased playable build.

The group conditioned leaks on token performance, but falling valuations have seemingly stalled the effort.

Previously, the group known as CyberLeek had promised to leak a full version of the game, over 200 gigabytes in size, under one condition: It demanded that the total value of its own digital currency exceed $30 million.

The end of the road and the fall of the currency

However, the value of the coin fell significantly to just $1,24 million, meaning the goal was not met. In a statement on their website, the group said they were halting their efforts, while also responding to accusations that their move was a scam.

From the beginning, the leaks were intended to draw attention to the digital currency, which had temporarily reached $23 million in value on August 23. According to estimates, the group managed to make around $270.000 from the coin at the beginning of the effort.

The group recently returned, releasing a new 25-minute video of gameplay footage, while also asking for donations via the currency. The members claimed to have a playable copy and released footage from the final mission, but made it clear that the ending of the game would remain unreleased.

Take-Two Interactive has not officially commented on the incident, but has taken legal action to track down the individuals behind the group. Meanwhile, fans of the game celebrated the collapse of the currency's value on platforms like Reddit.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to initially launch on PlayStation and Xbox on November 19th, with pre-orders already open. The PC version could launch in early 2027.
