FreeTube Web Unofficial

I’ve been working on a small project I’m excited to share:

a privacy-focused, serverless YouTube client and browser extension ecosystem powered by FreeTube (Vue 3 client) and NewPipe Extractor compiled to WebAssembly (Rust).

What it does:

  • runs a Rust/WebAssembly backend in the browser
  • connects the frontend and extractor into one working flow
  • explores a serverless approach to YouTube client access

Firefox add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/freetube-web-unofficial/

Goal was making a lightweight client that can run on every device that can run browser. Your feedback and thoughts would be much appreciated.
