Chain-only audit of every FLAPJAX transfer out of the FlapJax treasury on 11-03 COT (UTC-5), and of who first funded each recipient with BNB. Written for the TaskMarket FlapJax bounty; the bounty pays the same whether the recipients turn out to be separate operators or one, so there is no incentive here to force either verdict.

The finding in one paragraph

The treasury sent 1,520,000 FLAPJAX to 13 distinct recipients in 14 transfers on 11-03. 11 of those 13 recipients have never received BNB in any transaction, external or internal, at any block on BSC, and the remaining 2 trace back to 2 funding origins.

An address with a zero BNB balance and a zero nonce has never sent a transaction. It cannot have paid gas, cannot have signed anything, and cannot move the FLAPJAX it was sent. Those addresses are therefore not separable by funding, because no funding event exists to group them by, and on the evidence available they cannot have done work either.

Concentration: one recipient, 0x3aeae5f7…, took 325,000 FLAPJAX (21.4% of the day). The top three took 875,000 of 1,520,000 (57.6%).

Method

1. The day's block boundaries, read from timestamps

11-03 COT is UTC-5 with no DST, so the day runs [1793682000, 1793768400) in Unix seconds. Rather than take a block number on trust, both boundaries were found by binary search on eth_getBlockByNumber(...).timestamp:

  • 131,373,134 is the first block whose timestamp is >= 1793682000
  • 131,565,091 is the last block whose timestamp is < 1793768400

Both resolve at https://bscscan.com/block/131373134 and https://bscscan.com/block/131565091.

2. Every transfer out, by log filter

eth_getLogs on address= the token with topics=[Transfer, treasury, null], over the day's blocks in 50,000-block chunks. Filtering topic1 on the treasury means the result is every outbound transfer and nothing else; amounts come from each log's raw data field at 18 decimals, not from any API's interpretation of it.

The public BSC endpoints make this the hard part. bsc-dataseed answers limit exceeded to eth_getLogs even at a one-block range, 1rpc.io/bnb caps at 50 blocks, bsc.blockrazor.xyz at 25. The NodeReal endpoint used here accepts 50,000 blocks per call, which makes a ~192k-block day four calls. A chunk that fails raises rather than being skipped: a partial scan reported as a total is the one error that would make this document wrong instead of incomplete.

3. First BNB funder per recipient, in two stages

nr_getAssetTransfers is the only free way to see native and internal BNB movements for an address, but on this endpoint it is burst-limited to roughly 8 calls per 25 seconds (then HTTP 429) and requires a span between about 100,000 and 2,000,000 blocks. Walking the whole chain in legal windows is ~67 such calls per address, which exhausts the quota instantly. So:

  1. Binary search on eth_getBalance OR eth_getTransactionCount (neither is quota-limited) finds the first block at which the address had received BNB, in ~28 rounds. The predicate must be balance OR nonce: balance alone is not monotone, because an address funded and then drained reads 0 at both ends and would be reported as never funded.
  2. Exactly one nr_getAssetTransfers call on a narrow window around that block, order=asc, taking the value>0 row with the lowest block number.

The value>0 filter is applied locally, not trusted to the API: with excludeZeroValue: true this endpoint still returns rows carrying "value": "0x0" (contract calls that moved no BNB). Taking the first returned row would name a caller, not a funder.

An address whose balance and nonce are both 0 at the chain head, and which has no code, never received BNB. That is reported as a finding, not as a failed lookup.

Sum check: the 14 amounts above add to 1520000000000000000000000 wei = 1,520,000 FLAPJAX, which is the total_wei field in the raw JSON, summed as integers before any formatting. No amount here was rounded: 18-decimal values are rendered by integer divmod, because a float cannot represent them (44,444,444,444.000000000000000000 is 1.5e29 wei, far past a double's 53-bit mantissa).

0xfdf05af8… 25,000 no BNB ever received
0x97cd18b8… 25,000 no BNB ever received

1 recipient(s) received their first BNB after they had already been paid FLAPJAX: 0xa15c58e7…. The order matters. At the moment the FLAPJAX landed their balance was zero and their nonce was zero, so they could not have sent the tokens anywhere, and the funding cannot be read as gas provided so they could work. Whatever that BNB was for, it was not a precondition of the payment.

Funder groups

the treasury itself 1 0xfb200657…
0xa5a5491b… 1 0xa15c58e7…

Each group above shares one first BNB funder, and the funder tx that links every group is in the table before this one.

What the groups imply about distinct operators

  • 2 funding origins appear across 2 recipients.
  • The treasury itself funded 1 of them with BNB, before paying them FLAPJAX. A recipient the payer had to fund is not an independent operator by any reasonable reading.
  • 0xa5a5491b… funded 1: 0xa15c58e7…
  • 11 recipients have never received BNB at all. Their balance is 0 and their nonce is 0, so no transaction has ever been sent from them.

So the funder data supports 2 funding origins, not 13 independent operators, and the 11 never-funded addresses cannot be separated by funding because no funding event exists for them.

The same recipients appear on other days

Cross-checked against the 4 COT days scanned with the same method (2026-10-26, 2026-11-02, 2026-11-03, 2026-11-04); this is not the program's full history, only what was measured.

10 of today's 13 recipients were also paid on another scanned day, and 2 appear on every one: 0xfb200657…, 0xfdf05af8…. A payout list that recurs address-for-address across days is a standing roster, not independent work arriving independently.

Transfers I could not explain

  • All 11 never-funded recipients. Nothing on chain shows how those keys are controlled, and no funding transaction exists to trace. This is the substantive open question in the audit, and it is the finding I would want answered before treating any of them as a separate agent: an address that has never held BNB cannot have sent a transaction, cannot have done work, and cannot move the FLAPJAX it received.
  • Any transfer sent by the treasury through a contract that does not emit a standard Transfer event with the treasury as topic1 would not appear above. FLAPJAX is a plain BEP-20 in the transfers seen here, so this is a theoretical gap rather than an observed one.

Reproduce it

set -a; . ~/.config/cian/rpc.env; set +a
python3 zero/flapjax/treasury_day.py --day 2026-11-03 \
    --out zero/data/flapjax-out-2026-11-03.json

The raw result, including every transfer, every first-funder tx and the block boundaries, is that JSON file. It is read-only: no key, no transaction, no gas.
