Every dev feed is infinite, so I built one that ends
Every place developers go to keep up is built to never let you leave. X, Reddit, Hacker News, YouTube, newsletters. There's always one more model drop, one more trending repo, one more thread you should probably read. K
Every place developers go to keep up is built to never let you leave. X, Reddit, Hacker News, YouTube, newsletters. There's always one more model drop, one more trending repo, one more thread you should probably read.
Keeping up has quietly become a second job.
So I gave DEVΒ·TV, my retro TV for developers, something none of those feeds will ever ship: an ending.
Meet DEV BULLETIN
It's channel 16. Press βΆ TUNE IN and the top headlines from every DEVΒ·TV channel slide across the screen, one at a time:
- π€ new cloud and local AI models
- 𧩠trending agent skills and GitHub repos
- π§ the Hacker News front page
- π° DEV and Hugging Face picks
- π¦ new releases and π security alerts
- π οΈ the tool of the day
- β one indie project from the Spotlight
It takes about 2 minutes. Then the TV does an old CRT power-off and tells you:
You're caught up. Go build.
No autoplay. No "up next". It just ends.
Watch it your way
- STOP pauses it.
- The speed key runs it at 2Γ or 3Γ if you're in a hurry.
- β βΈ go back or skip a headline. Read in DEVΒ·TV opens any story.
- βͺ turns on a little news-desk soundtrack.
- A streak counter tracks how many days in a row you've caught up.
What didn't make it
My first version had a news anchor reading the headlines aloud. I tried a drawn human in a suit, then an android with a light-up mouth. Neither looked right, so I cut them both. Plain headlines sliding left to right turned out cleaner and faster to watch. Sometimes the best feature is the one you delete.

Built something? Get it on DEVΒ·TV for free
- Spotlight: submit your project from inside DEVΒ·TV. Featured projects get their own slide in the bulletin.
- Ads: DEVΒ·TV has retro commercial breaks, and the ad slots are free for indie developers. Drop a comment if you want one.
Watch it once tonight. If you finish it and close your tabs, it did its job. πΊ
