An offline-first approach keeps the vault available without depending on an internet connection.
There are trade-offs, of course. Cloud syncing makes multi-device access and recovery easier, while offline storage gives users more direct control over where their data lives.
For sensitive information, I think it's worth asking a simple question:
Do we really need the cloud for data we only need to access locally?
I've been exploring this approach while building MahaVault, an offline password manager and personal vault for Android.
