Bolt.new Alternatives Compared by Meter, Seats and Price (Oct 2026)

If you have ever run out of tokens halfway through a project in Bolt, you already know the real problem with prompt-to-app builders: every vendor meters usage in a different unit, so the monthly price tells you almost nothing. I wrote a longer, fully sourced comparison on DevToolLab; this is the short version.
I read each vendor's pricing page as raw text on October 8, 2026 and compared the meter, the seat rule and the exit path, not output quality. I did not build the same app in each tool, so none of this ranks code quality.
Why Bolt's meter bites
Bolt's own FAQ says most token use comes from syncing your project's files to the model, so bigger projects cost more per message. The Free plan allows 300K tokens a day and 1M a month. Pro is $25 a month and starts at 10M tokens. Teams is $30 per member, and tokens are not shared between members, so a quiet teammate cannot cover a busy one. Paid tokens roll over for one extra month.
A message in week six of a project costs more than the same message in week one. Each alternative below changes that meter instead of removing it.
Lovable: one shared credit pool
Lovable charges in credits that cover building, its Cloud backend and AI features inside your app, all from one balance. It does not charge per seat, and workspaces allow unlimited members on every plan. Its pricing page shows Pro at $25 for 100 credits and Business at $50 for 100 credits, and the $25 is the entry tier of a dropdown.
Its FAQ lists example costs: "Make the button gray" is 0.50 credits, "Remove the footer" is 0.90, adding authentication is 1.20, and a landing page with three generated images is 1.70. Plan Mode is 1 credit a message. The catch for a team is that one person can drain the pool unless an admin sets per-member limits, which Pro supports.
v0: dollars at published token rates
v0 is the only tool here that publishes its model rates. Per million tokens, v0 Mini is $0.20 in and $1.20 out, v0 Pro is $2 and $10, and v0 Max is $5 and $25. Plans hand you dollars of that usage. Free gives $5 in one-time credits and 7 messages a day. Plus is $30 per user per month with $30 of included credits, and Business is $100 per user. The pricing page shows $90 struck through next to the $30, so check your invoice. Deploys and billing sit on vercel.com, which helps if you already ship there.
Replit: the all-in-one account
Replit bundles the editor, hosting and databases. Core is $20 a month ($18 billed annually) with $20 toward stronger models. Pro is $100 ($90 annual) with 10 parallel agents, up to 15 collaborators and $100 toward top models. Extra usage runs on effort-based pay-as-you-go pricing. The Core card states no seat rule, so read the billing docs before you budget for a team.
Base44: no-code with a bundled backend
Base44 builds frontend, backend, database and authentication together, and its footer shows Wix.com Ltd. as the owner. It meters message credits plus a separate pool of integration credits. Starter is $16 a month for 100 message credits, Builder $40 for 250, Pro $80 for 500 and Elite $160 for 1,200, all billed annually with a 20 percent discount, so monthly billing costs more. Free gives 25 message credits and up to 5 apps. The FAQ promises two-way GitHub sync, but the Starter card does not list it.
Dyad and bolt.diy: you pay the model, not a seat
Dyad is a desktop app for macOS and Windows that calls whichever model API you give it. Code outside src/pro is Apache 2.0, and src/pro uses the Functional Source License, so it is open source with a fair-source corner. Dyad Pro is $20 a month for 200 AI credits and Max is $79 for 900.
bolt.diy is StackBlitz Labs' MIT-licensed fork of Bolt's open-source repo. It supports 21+ providers, including local ones through Ollama and LM Studio. Two warnings: the newest tagged release is v1.0.0 from May 2025, so you track main, and it relies on WebContainers, which has its own commercial terms for enterprise use.
What a 4-person team pays
| Plan | Four seats, per month |
|---|---|
| Bolt Teams | $120 |
| v0 Plus | $120 |
| Lovable Pro | $25 flat |
| Lovable Business | $50 flat |
| Dyad Free | $0 plus your API bill |
Lovable is $95 cheaper than Bolt or v0 at this size, but 100 credits split four ways is 14 to 50 prompts each depending on the task. The cheap plan is cheap because it is small. Per-seat plans cost more and give everyone a private allowance. You are choosing between a pooled meter and four separate ones. The full cost script and its output are in the original post.
Picking one without migrating twice
- Count last week's messages in your current tool, then convert with each vendor's own unit.
- Run your real team size through the seat math. The flat-versus-per-seat gap widens with each person.
- Decide where the app lives: v0 deploys to Vercel, Bolt and Lovable bundle hosting, Replit bundles hosting and databases, Dyad and bolt.diy leave it to you.
- Test the exit by syncing a throwaway project to GitHub and opening it in your editor.
- If you self-host, estimate your own token bill. The AI Token Counter gives a quick number.
My shortlist: v0 if you already deploy on Vercel, Lovable for a team sharing one budget, Replit for editor plus database plus hosting, Base44 for non-developers building internal tools, and Dyad or bolt.diy if code must stay on your machine. If your generated app ships a .env file, run it through the Dotenv Linter before you push.
Before paying anyone, test one real feature on your top two choices and watch what the meter does in week six.
