Like many developers, I’m self-taught, and that often means jumping from one tutorial to another, consuming a lot of content without really using any of it. I understand the concepts, but when it comes to applying them in real projects, I get stuck. I’d sit in front of an empty editor, thinking about all the tutorials I had watched, yet still struggling to build something on my own.I had no roadmap. I would find a language interesting, get excited, and dive into it right away. But after a few days, that excitement would fade, and I still wouldn’t be able to build anything meaningful. Then I’d convince myself that the problem was the language, so I’d move on to another one. That cycle kept repeating itself.Eventually, I realized the issue wasn’t the language. It was the way I was learning. I had no guidance, no coaching, and no clear structure, just me trying to figure everything out on my own. While searching for a solution, I tried many different products and platforms. Out of all of them, one stood out the most, and I want to share it with you because it might help you too. That’s when Scrimba became part of my journey. I was looking for a more effective way to start building ideas beyond tutorials, and Scrimba felt different from the start. What makes it different is that you’re not just watching videos. The lessons and hands-on practice work together. That was what first caught my attention, but I was even more impressed once I explored it further. You can pause a lesson, make changes directly in the editor, and continue learning in the same tab, with no switching back and forth and no losing focus. If you want to start building instead of just watching, then Scrimba is worth checking out.
