AI Isn't Stupid. It's Disconnected.

Every time someone tells me an AI model gave them a generic, useless answer, I ask what they fed it. Almost always: nothing. A bare question, no context, into a system that has no idea who's asking or why it matters.

That's not a model failure. That's a plumbing failure. Your actual expertise — the thing that makes your judgment worth something — isn't sitting in one tidy file. It's scattered across old Slack threads, half-finished docs, a notes app, three years of email, and a lot of things you've never written down because they just live in your head as instinct. None of that talks to any of the rest of it. So when you ask a general-purpose model a specific question, it answers like a smart stranger, because that's exactly what it is to your context.

The fix isn't a bigger model. It's connecting the scattered pieces into something a model can actually read — your decisions, your patterns, the way you specifically think through a problem, wired into the tools you already use. Do that, and the same "dumb" model starts sounding like it's known you for years, because in a very literal sense, now it has.

This is the whole bet behind building a personal AI system instead of just using a chat window: the intelligence was never the bottleneck. The disconnection was. Fix the wiring, and you stop needing a smarter brain — you already had one.
