5 privacy-first developer tools that run 100% in your browser

Every day, developers paste sensitive things into random websites: JSON payloads with tokens in them, CSV exports full of customer data, images that aren't public yet, passwords they just generated.

Almost all of those "free online tools" upload your input to a server to process it. You have no idea where it goes after that.

So when I built the tools hub on ToolVerse USA, I made one non-negotiable rule: everything runs 100% client-side. No server receives your input — there literally isn't a processing server. Here are the 5 tools developers seem to use most:

1. JSON Formatter & Validator

Paste messy API JSON → get it pretty-printed, validated, and — when it's broken — an error message that actually points at the problem. Minify/beautify in one click.

2. CSV to JSON Converter

Headers become keys automatically, handles large files, copy or download the result. Your customer data never leaves the tab.

3. Base64 Encoder & Decoder

For text, tokens, and data URIs — both directions. The one I reach for when debugging auth payloads.

4. Image Compressor

JPG/PNG compression with an adjustable quality slider and before/after file sizes, done locally on canvas. Your unreleased screenshots stay unreleased.

5. Strong Password Generator

Up to 128 characters, letters/numbers/symbols, generated locally. A password generator that sends your new password to a server should make you nervous — this one can't.

Also in the hub

SERP preview (check your Google title/description before publishing), unit converter, word counter, case converter, and a date duration calculator — all under the same rule.

Everything is vanilla JavaScript on a static site — no build framework needed at runtime, works offline as a PWA.

Which local-first tool do you wish existed? I'm building the next batch from requests, so tell me in the comments 👇
